Professional Bull Riders World Championship

Professional Bull Riding

Pulse PEMF was the proud sponsor of this year’s Professional Bull Riding World Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Over the course of the event, our team was able to see firsthand how PEMF technology enhances the lives of human athletes and the bulls they ride, as they compete together in this daring sport.

This year’s PBR event coincided with the American Bucking Bull Incorporated Finals held at South Point Casino, where we hosted hundreds of visitors in our Pulse Equine experience booth. This gave us the ability to meet up with some of our livestock partners during the week, like Matt Scharping with Phenom Genetics and Rickey West of Rickey West Bucking Bulls.

Pulse Equine showcased in Bull Housing Tour

Matt and Rickey were both part of the Bull Housing tours, which allows visitors to make their way behind the chutes and get an “ultimate behind-the-scenes and up-close-and-personal access to the riders, talent, and bulls of the PBR.”

This tour is important, as it helps to debunk popular misconceptions that the bulls at these events are mistreated. In fact, part of the tour is learning about their extensive wellness routine, which happens to include Pulse Equine PEMF! Michelle Wycoff, a Pulse PEMF Equine Professional, demoed a pulsing session during this tour on Bad Beagle, who was an enthusiastic participant. Later, Bad Beagle, owned by our partner Matt Scharping of Phenom Genetics, helped Ezekiel Mitchell in his race for Rookie of the Year with a score of 88.25.

Highlights from PBR

Some highlights from the event included the Pulse PEMF sponsored rider Jess Lockwood becoming the youngest two-time PBR World Champion of the year! Jess rode 5 out of 6 rides in the championships with scores well into the 90s. Bull rides are judged based on the quality of the ride after they breach the 8-second mark. The rider and the bull each contribute 50% to the overall score of 100 points. If the bull bucks higher, harder and spins faster the bull’s score will increase and, if the rider maintains control and rides aggressively, their score will increase as well.

We were also able to cheer on our other Pulse PEMF sponsored PBR Athlete Stetson Lawrence to a score of 86.75 in the 4th round despite some serious leg injuries prior to the event. Athlete and owner of Pulse PEMF technology Derek Kolbaba stopped by the booth along with many other riders competing in the championship for their opportunity to Pulse.

Pulse PEMF technology is not just for your equine partners. It’s for any athlete, family member, or animal. We’re proud to sponsor the PBR tour, riders, and bulls! For more information, be sure to visit our website and check out our event calendar to see when we’ll be at an event near you!
